What is the Freshman Advantage?
A selective program designed to promote success and to improve academic performance during the first year of college.
Who is eligible for the program?
Freshman Advantage is a conditional-acceptance program for freshmen who require additional support or whose academic skills need further development. Enrollment in the program depends on several factors, including high school GPA, SAT scores and At-Risk Committee assessment. Qualified students are then given the opportunity to attend NC Wesleyan under the condition that they "actively" participate in the program during their first year of college. To successfully complete Freshman Advantage, enrolled students must complete monthly program requirements, all of which are designed to strengthen their academic skills, ease their transition to college and provide personal and professional development opportunities.
