Path to Wesleyan:

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Tiffany received her Bachelor of Child Development/Family Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, she taught a year of school at a private, Christian school, had two Administrative Assistant positions with Point Park University and the University of Pittsburgh as well as worked in childcare centers. Even though Tiffany loved the little ones, it was her experience working on a college campus that she truly enjoyed. She knew she wanted to work in that type of environment and interact more with students. After some researching and talking with people in the field, this led her to obtaining a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. In 2003, while working as a Preschool Teacher, an opportunity presented itself for Tiffany to take a temporary assignment as a Resident Director at University of Pittsburgh. This was Tiffany's first exposure to student affairs in higher education. Though, she was thankful for the experience, she knew this wasn't her area. It wasn't until Tiffany had to do a project in one of her classes that she discovered her passion for Career Services. Her second year of graduate school, Tiffany had another opportunity this time to volunteer at Carlow University, Office of Career Services as the Directors student assistant, where she gained more experience in higher education and career services. After graduating in 2004, Tiffany got hired at Houston Baptist Unversity as a Career Counselor and relocated to Houston, Texas. In 2008, she was hired with Houston Independent School District to work at Barbara Jordan High School for Careers, as their College Counselor. After two years, and due to new administration and budget cuts, that position was eliminated. In January 2011, Tiffany moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family and to continue her job search. And in June 2011, she accepted the position as Director of Internships and Career Services at North Carolina Wesleyan College and once again relocated to Rocky Mount, NC. Tiffany has gone through a lot of transitions, but she is happy to be at Wesleyan and is excited to be working back in higher education with students.
