Three new $5,000 scholarships at North Carolina Wesleyan College have been created by Leadership Twin Counties (LTC), a nine-month leadership development program of the Rocky Mount Area and Tarboro-Edgecombe chambers of commerce. LTC raised $10,000 for two scholarships, and Wesleyan committed to matching their efforts with an additional scholarship.
LTC members chose to raise funds for the scholarships at Wesleyan after attending several training seminars focused on leadership and conducted by Wesleyan Business Professor David Walker, director of the Eastern North Carolina Center for Business and Entrepreneurship located on the Wesleyan campus.
The one-time scholarship awards are available to Wesleyan juniors or seniors working toward a bachelor’s degree in any subject who add a Concentration in Entrepreneurship. That involves taking a series of four interdisciplinary courses and prerequisites that may be required.
Applications for the scholarship are still being considered and are available by contacting Professor Walker at email@example.com.
