How did NCWC prepare you for your professional life? “The Liberal Arts program at Wesleyan helps you uncover interests you never knew you had. I took a couple of art classes as electives and loved them! That’s why I got an art minor. Also, the small class sizes helped prepare me because I was able to get to know my professors on a first name basis. They wanted to do anything they could to help me succeed in school and in my future; they challenged me and helped me realize I have the skills to be successful. I was building relationships with them and could see that they truly cared about me. The professors showed this by sending motivational emails, having coffee breaks in their office, or just being there to talk academically, as well as personally.”

Most influential professor: “It has to be a tie between Dr. Ferebee and Dr. Anderson! Dr. Ferebee taught me how to think and be logical and helped improve my writing. Dr. Anderson directed my honors thesis, but in addition, she listened to non-academic issues and helped me grow personally.”

Greatest experience at NCWC: “Junior year, I was finishing up my major and needed two English classes that were offered on the same day and time. I went to the professor and told him that I needed both classes being offered. A few other students were having the same dilemma, so he told me that he would move the class and email me with the new day and time. That proves that the professors only want the best for you and want to see you succeed. You don’t see that type of support just anywhere!”
