Adia Cuthbertson, North Carolina Wesleyan College’s director of student activities, has received the national Campus Event Planner of the Year Award from Power Performers of Hartford, NY, an entertainment and speakers bureau. This is the second consecutive year that Cuthbertson has earned the prestigious award. Campuses nationwide competed for the recognition, which honors the hard work and dedication of college and university staff who create memorable campus activities and events.
Cuthbertson received special commendation for her role in bringing a show, “Robert Channing—the World’s Greatest Mind-Reader/Hypnotist/Mental Artist,” to campus in 2013.
“I definitely appreciate and am honored that I was chosen for the award,” Cuthbertson said. “It’s really not just me. I work with a great team of students, so I’m glad that Wesleyan could be recognized.”
Cuthbertson came to Wesleyan in 2009 as director of student activities. She oversees many of the college’s student activities, including several homecoming events, student clubs, fraternities and sororities, and the Student Government Association. She also plans weekly novelty programs on campus.
