Wesleyan Trustees Elect Three New Officers

Rocky Mount, N.C.—North Carolina Wesleyan College’s Board of Trustees recently elected a new Board chairman, vice chairman, and secretary.

Will H. Lassiter III, a Wesleyan trustee since 2005, was named chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is a partner with the Rocky Mount law firm of Lassiter & Sperati, PLLC. Lassiter earned his bachelor’s degree in business at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill and graduated from the UNC School of Law in 1972. He practices law in the areas of real estate, wills, and estate planning.

Michael H. Hancock, an 11-year veteran of the Board, was elected vice chairman. A 1976 graduate of North Carolina State University, he is executive vice president of Boddie-Noell Enterprises in Rocky Mount, the largest Hardee’s franchisee in North Carolina as well as the United States.

Marvin Pittman, a retired educator from Raleigh who has served on the Board for four years, was elected secretary. He is an alumnus of NC Wesleyan and holds graduate degrees from NC State and NC Central University. His distinguished and diverse career has included a variety of positions in North Carolina public education, including key positions within the NC Department of Public Instruction.

Founded in 1956 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina Wesleyan College is a residential four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution affiliated with The United Methodist Church. The college prepares men and women for challenging careers and fulfilling lives, offering 26 majors and 19 minors to approximately 1,600 students in a traditional day program on the main campus and a special adult degree program offered on the main campus and in eight other North Carolina locations.
