The Wesleyan Society Recognizes, Celebrates Major Donors

North Carolina Wesleyan recently celebrated its most generous donors at a reception for members of the Wesleyan Society—the annual giving society for donors who give $1,000 or more.

Donors at the $1,000 level or above automatically are members of the Wesleyan Society. As such, they receive invitations to special college events throughout the year, a Wesleyan Society lapel pin, and personal communications from Wesleyan’s president to keep them informed. Donors may make their gift unrestricted, so it can help meet important annual needs of the college, or they may designate their gift for a purpose of their choice.

This fall’s Wesleyan Society event was held in the Dunn Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday evening, December 12, with a reception from 6:00 to 7:30. Wesleyan President Jim Gray and his wife, Beth Gray, received guests, who enjoyed camaraderie and an opportunity to greet friends and make new acquaintances. More than 120 individuals, corporations, and foundations are members of the Wesleyan Society. Pictured above is a scene from the gathering held in the Carlton Board Room.

The event preceded the performance of the Golden Dragon Acrobats, the premier Chinese acrobatic touring company which the Dunn Center brought back by popular demand as part of the college’s 2013-2014 entertainment series. Wesleyan Society members and their guests received free tickets to the performance, a special Wesleyan Christmas tree ornament, and a CD recording of songs performed by the Wesleyan Singers.
