Rocky Mount, N.C.—North Carolina Wesleyan College’s 32nd annual Days for Wesleyan fundraising event officially got under way today as more than 50 community leaders gathered at the Dunn Center for a kick-off breakfast. The team of volunteers will begin canvassing area businesses and college supporters to seek contributions and pledges to support needs such as scholarships for deserving students, academic programs, classroom technology, and campus improvements.
This year’s co-chairs for the fundraiser are Rocky Mount Mayor David Combs and his wife, Catherine Combs.
“We are fortunate to have a four-year college like Wesleyan in Rocky Mount and are honored to co-chair Days for Wesleyan,” Mayor Combs said. “Support for Wesleyan will help the college continue to educate a workforce that will impact our local, state, and national economy.”
The canvassing effort will conclude on Friday, September 27. Businesses and individuals interested in participating in Days for Wesleyan should contact the Office of College Advancement at 252-985-5266.
