Wesleyan Observes Patriots’ Day

North Carolina Wesleyan College students, faculty, and staff gathered near the flagpole on the front lawn of the Braswell Administration Building today to observe Patriots’ Day, designated in memory of the 2,977 who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In a formal ceremony, Wesleyan’s ROTC students lowered the flag, which will be flown at half-mast throughout the day.  ROTC Cadet Alexis Robinson sang the National Anthem, and U.S. Army Major Christian Drew, head of Wesleyan’s Army ROTC program, addressed the crowd and invoked a moment of silence.
