NC Wesleyan College survived Hurricane Irene with only a little damage to some trees and inconvenience to the resident students, who had to deal with a power outage and loss of internet service. Compared to the losses in many neighboring communitites, this disruption was uncomfortable but relatively minor. Students were very cooperative and patient as Sodexho worked to provide food service through the unusual conditions.
