This year marks the 30th anniversary of Days for Wesleyan, an annual fund raising activity of NC Wesleyan College. Unlike the 1-day event of previous years, DFW is now a more flexible 2-week long canvassing of the community to seek financial support for the college.
Following a Kick-off Breakfast on Tuesday, September 20, a team of volunteers will contact local businesses and college supporters to seek contributions and/or pledges to generate funds for scholarships, academic programming, and campus improvements. The canvassing effort concludes on Wednesday, October 5 with the final results to be announced on Saturday, October 8 during the home football game half-time program.
DFW chair for 2011 is Michael Hancock, Executive Vice President of Boddie Noell Enterprises.
The DFW Kick-off Breakfast and fund-raising effort for this year is dedicated to the memory of former Mayor Fred Turnage, who was a great friend and long-time supporter of NC Wesleyan College. Businesses and individuals interested in participating in DFW should contact the NCWC Advancement Office for more information.
