Public Can Help NCWC Win National Competition
Rocky Mount, N.C.—North Carolina Wesleyan College’s video entry in the National Martin Luther King Day Technology Challenge Contest has been chosen as one of four top entries nationwide. Public voting for the winner takes place from February 18 – February 25. The winner will receive $250 toward activities for next year’s MLK Day of Service, plus lots of positive publicity.
The college hopes that everyone will go to:
http://org.elon.edu/nccc/MLKTechnologyContestFinalists.html and scroll past the “Photo Contest” submissions, all the way to the bottom of the screen, where the voting box is located. There you can also view Wesleyan’s video entry, submitted by Cara Cox-Steiner, who heads Wesleyan’s Office of Community Engagement as a volunteer VISTA worker.
Wesleyan held a Day of Community Service on MLK Day in January. Scenes in the video include photos from service that Wesleyan provided for Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, and other local organizations. The college hopes that the community will vote for its video so that the $250 prize can be used to provide additional help to the community during next year’s MLK Day of Service.
