Live Athletics Webcasts Offered
Rocky Mount, N.C.—The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce its plans to provide live online webcasts for its home events. Wesleyan has teamed with UStream.TV to provide FREE live coverage of the Battling Bishops… an added perk for NCWC players, coaches, and fans, whose locations reach far beyond the Rocky Mount campus!
“This is great exposure for North Carolina Wesleyan Athletics,” said NCWC Sports Information Director Rikki Rich. “Not only is this a great recruiting tool, but it also allows the parents of our current players to enjoy live coverage from anywhere in the world.”
Wesleyan began audio coverage of men's and women's basketball last week with games versus Roanoke Bible, Salem, and Shenandoah. Local broadcaster Bob Maloney is providing play-by-play, along with halftime and post-game interviews with coaches and members of the administration.
The initial sponsor for this project, Roger G. Taylor & Associates, was instrumental in getting the Bishops on the air by purchasing the necessary audio equipment. Rich then set up a link for Wesleyan athletics through UStream.TV, which can be accessed through NCWC's official athletics website at www.ncwc.edu/athletics
"We're already enjoying early success with this project, and we look forward to extending this coverage into our spring sports season," added Rich. "We're already receiving rave reviews from parents who are unable to attend our mid-week games."
