Renew Items
The easiest way to renew items you have checked out is by using "My Account" in the online catalog.
To log into your account:
- Visit the catalog and click "My Account"
- Your Library ID is your six-digit student ID. If you haven't logged in before, your PIN will be the last 4 digits of that ID number.
- Create an EZ Log On with any username and password you want for easier access in the future!
Books and DVDs may be renewed by telephone, e-mail, in person, or through the online catalog for a period equivalent to that of the original loan, provided the item has not been recalled by another patron.
Checkout Limits
Students may check out up to 25 books at one time, up to 3 videos or DVDs at one time, and up to 2 reserve items at one time.
Faculty and staff may check out as many books and DVDs as necessary at one time with the exception of reserves, which are limited to 2 items at one time.
Public Borrowers may check out up to 5 items at any one time. See our public borrower policy for more details.

Patrons can place a hold on any item in the online catalog by using the "Request" button. That item will be held at the circulation desk for up to 48 hours. Requests may also be placed by phone.
Occasionally books and other materials may be recalled due to special needs by another patron. Patrons will be notified of a recall by an email message. Items will not be recalled before the original due date unless they are checked out to a faculty or staff member for the entire term. The maximum loan period for recalled items for faculty and staff is 30 days. When returned, recalled items will be held at the circulation desk for the next patron.
Course Reserves
The library maintains course reserves to make sure heavily used resources are available for students when they need them. Library materials or faculty-owned materials, including books, periodicals, and audiovisual media, may be placed on reserve. Copyright law does not permit the library to place on reserve photocopies of material that is protected by copyright. Reserve items may be designated strict reserve (3-hour circulation period for use in the library), 1-day, 3-day, or 1-week reserve.
To check out reserve items, visit the circulation desk and ask for them. They are organized by the name of the instructor and the course number.
