Faculty and Staff Phone Guide
Lift the receiver or press the "speaker" button. Press the "call fwd" button. Dial the extension to which you want calls forwarded. Listen for a confirming tone and/or see the number confirmed on the display. Hang up to initiate forwarding. To cancel forwarding, see below.
Call Forward (cancel):
Lift the receiver or press the "speaker" button. Press the "call fwd" button. The display shows "cancelled" and a confirming tone sounds. Hang up to complete the process.
Camp on busy (to automatically recall a busy number):
While listening to the "busy" tone on a call you just dialed: Press the "camp-on" button (next to the number pad). The button should light and you will hear a confirmation tone. Your phone will ring when the number is no longer busy. When you answer the number will be dialed for you.
Press the gray "Conf" button. Dial the extension to be added to the call.
This feature is not yet set up. Workgroups will be established soon.
Press the red "hold" button (next to the number pad). The current call is placed on hold. You may make or take another call. The held call rings back to you in three minutes.
Last Number Redial:
Lift the receiver or press the "speaker" button and press the gray "Last No. Redial" button. The last-dialed number will be dialed.
Line 2 pickup:
While you are talking, your phone rings on another line. You may simply press the gray button for the ringing line (the light will be flashing). Your display will change to show that you are connected to the other party. You may switch between the lines by pressing the appropriate lighted button. You may transfer either call. The call that is not active is on "hold" and will ring back to you in three minutes.
For all calls: Dial 9+1+AreaCode+Number
If you hear a short "stutter tone" your calling code is required

Note: You should not need your code for Raleigh/Durham numbers; you should be able to dial these numbers as local calls using 9-1-919-...
To use your personal long distance service, please dial the company's 9-1-800 number.
To learn when (and by whom) a message was left, while listening to the message press 0 twice.
This is the "mute" button. When pressed it keeps the other party from hearing you. It works for both the receiver and the speakerphone.
Telephone company operator service is not available. To use your personal long distance service, please dial the company's 9-1-800 number.
If you need to distinguish your ring from others' in your office, press the "rg tone" button (centered on the gray area) to adjust the pitch of your ringer.
Press the "speaker" button (next to the number pad) to initiate a call or to hear your current call on the speakerphone. The button will light. You may hang up the receiver. Press the "speaker" button once again to terminate the call.
Speed Dial programming:
Lift the receiver or press the "speaker" button. Press the gray "Program" button. Press a gray button that has no assigned function. The display should read "auto dial." Enter the number (extension or outside) to speed dial. Press the "Program" button once again. Hang up (or press the "speaker" button again) to complete the process.
Lift the receiver or press the "speaker" button. Press a gray button programmed to speed dial.
Press the "transfer" button (next to the number pad). Enter the extension to which you are transferring the call. You may remain on the line to announce the call. When you hang up the call will be transferred.
Ringer volume and call volume are both adjusted with the two gray arrow keys just below the display. Ringer volume is adjustable when the phone is ringing. Call volume is adjustable when you are listening to a call.
