My parents have always told me that a strong education and work ethic would be necessary if I wanted to succeed in life. From an early age I decided that I would go to college but, I did not know where. I knew that a quality education would not be cheap, so I focused on my academics and God blessed me with scholarships and the strong financial aid package I received from NCWC.
From what I’ve experienced in my short time here at Wesleyan I feel that the college is the right fit for me. The size and intimacy of NCWC is appealing and is one of the college’s attractive features. NCWC offers academic challenges while providing the right opportunities to help one succeed with diligence and assistance.
During my admissions / decision making process I was excited to receive a personal call from President Gray where he shared his goal to create an atmosphere of family and a sense of community at Wesleyan. His desire that every student has the opportunity to be a important member of the NCWC family was encouraging. It is important to me that NCWC has goals. During my first week on campus many of the faculty and staff have asked for any opinions and suggestions of ways to build a stronger Wesleyan experience. I am excited to be part of a college community that is on the move in all the right directions.
Even though I have not been a Battling Bishop for long, I know that I will carry on the tradition with honor and respect for years to come. My Wesleyan experience has already shown me that there is something special about the college and the individuals who support it. I would not be on the path to success I am on today, if it were not for the generosity of those who support Wesleyan.
