North Carolina Wesleyan College is well into its second half century.  Founded in 1956 as a liberal arts college in affiliation with The United Methodist Church, North Carolina Wesleyan opened its doors in 1960 with the impressive financial support of $2 million from the Rocky Mount community, a gift of 200 acres of land, and the previous chartering of the college by the State of North Carolina.

The Georgian style brick architecture, several green spaces, the entrance gate houses, fountain, and Jeffersonian commons are bordered on the east front by its renowned mile-long serpentine wall, the longest in the world.  North Carolina Wesleyan has the aura of the ideal small liberal arts college of higher education, where teaching and learning are its hallmarks, helping students mature and grow intellectually, morally, and spiritually.

North Carolina Wesleyan has a traditional student body of 820 students and including its 10 Aspire adult degree sites has a total student population of 1,800 students.  The college has 28 majors, 26 minors, and ten pre-professional areas of study.

North Carolina Wesleyan College is an enriching experience for faculty and students.  We invite you to consider supporting this quality endeavor in the liberal arts of higher education.

The Office of College Advancement is located in the historic Bellemonte House, ca 1825.  It was originally the home of Dr. John F. Bellamy (1794-1846).  The home was a gift to the college from the heirs of M. C. Braswell and was moved to its present site in 1988.

College Advancement is responsible for alumni relations, Wesleyan Fund annual giving, communications/publications, donor stewardship, major gifts, and the capital campaign, Strength of Heart.
