Two series of exams are available for Adult Degree students through the Triangle office: PLEASE NOTE: CLEP AND DANTES (DSST) TESTING AT THE TRIANGLE IS A SERVICE OFFERED ONLY TO STUDENTS OF NORTH CAROLINA WESLEYAN COLLEGE. Ø CLEP (College Level Examination Program) Clep Order Form Here This series offers 5 exams covering general areas of knowledge and approximately 33 covering specific subjects. CLEP exams are 90-minute timed tests and are multiple choice in format. NC Wesleyan offers computerized versions of CLEP tests at the Triangle campus. CLEP TESTING IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Ø DANTES (Defense Activities for Non-Traditional Education Support) Dantes Order Form Here 32 exams covering specific subject areas are available. DANTES (DSST) exams are not timed but should not take more than 1 1/2 hours to complete. The format is multiple choice. NOTE: Students need to check with their academic advisor to determine which exams may be appropriate. . Test Fees:Test Registration Fees Ø There is a $15 order fee for each exam ordered of either type. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid with the order request. You may pay this fee by check or money order (made payable to NCWC), Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. CASH will not be accepted. Please sign up for no more than a total of 6 EXAMS per test period. A separate test fee is paid when each exam is taken. CLEP Test Fees Ø Each CLEP costs $55 at test time and may be paid only with MasterCard, Visa, American Express or personal check. (This makes a total cost of $70 per CLEP exam.) If you are taking more than one CLEP test, you will need to pay for each test separately. Cash and DEBIT CARDS are not accepted. Please sign up for no more than 2 CLEP EXAMS per test period. General information on CLEP is available through their website at http://www.collegeboard.org/clep/ DANTES Test Fees Ø Each DANTES exam costs $60 at test time and may be paid only with certified check or money order (made payable to DSST Program), Visa, MasterCard or American Express. (This makes a total cost of $75 per DANTES exam.) Cash and PERSONAL CHECKS are not accepted. Please sign up for no more than 6 DANTES EXAMS per test period. For general information on DANTES and to download free study guides, see their website at http://www.getcollegecredit.com/ Please Note: Credit for passing CLEP or DANTES exams is given as transfer credit and is not used to figure a student’s GPA. It also is not included in the 31 hour NCWC minimum requirement, or towards hours used to determine honors eligibility. Students completing CLEP General Examinations may have their transfer credit reduced if they have already received credit for coursework that is covered by the General Examination. No notation appears on the NCWC transcript for exams that are not passed. A student may retake a failed exam after 6 months.
