Traditional Transfer Students

Transfer Requirement

  • Earn over 12 transferrable college credits (Course level 100 or above).*
  • Achieve a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Provide an official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended.
  • Demonstrate good standing in all post-secondary institutions attended.

* A student with fewer than 12 transferrable college credits must apply as a freshman.

How to Apply

  • Complete our free application online or request one to be mailed by calling our admissions office 252.985.5200.
  • Submit official transcripts for each post-secondary institution you have attended.

Financial Aid

  • Ninety-eight percent of NCWC students receive financial aid. Institutional aid is awarded based on academic performance and financial need. North Carolina community college graduates with a 2-year degree, who enroll full-time at Wesleyan, are eligible for the 2+ Wesleyan Program. This program immediately allows those students to begin satisfying the requirements for their four-year degree.
  • Complete your FAFSA: Free Application For Student Aid.  Use School Code-002951.
  • Military Discount: All active duty and veterans of all branches of the military, including the National Guard and Coast Guard receive a 10% discount.  This discount will be applied as an internal grant towards the cost of attending after the drop/add period. The discount is for students only, and excludes family members.

Transfer Scholarships

  • Transfer Award Gold $13,500 (GPA requirement of 3.5 and above)
  • Transfer Award Blue $10,500 (GPA requirement of 3.0-3.4)
  • Transfer Award White $7,500 (GPA requirement of 2.5-2.9)
  • Recipients must maintain GPA of 2.0 in college coursework
  • Students transferring with an Associate’s Degree will receive an extra $1,000 in scholarship with our W+2 identifier.) Transfer scholarships are renewed annually. You must be enrolled full-time.  

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

  • Wesley Heritage Scholarship covers Tuition, Room/Board and Books. Recipients must have 1100 combined Math & Verbal SAT score or ACT 24 score and a G.P.A. of 3.5. or above. Criteria will be evaluated from your official High School transcript.
  • Phi Theta Kappa- -$500. You must be enrolled full-time.
  • United Methodist Award-$2,000: Must be a member of the United Methodist Church/Submit Letter from Minister. You must be enrolled full-time.
  • Consult the website for other financial aid awards that may be available to you. These awards will also be determined based upon your official High School transcript. 

Accepted Students

CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance to North Carolina Wesleyan College! Make sure you complete the following to secure your Bishop place:

  • Submit enrollment deposit for tuition and housing $150, not refundable after May 1. If you would like to put your deposit on a charge card, please call the Office of College Admissions: 252.985.5200.
  • Complete and submit your housing and health forms.
  • Attend New Student Orientation.
  • Verify your FAFSA has been completed and all Financial Aid documents have been submitted.
  • Visit the campus if you have not done so.

New Student Orientation 

Student orientations are a great means to connect with peers, staff, and faculty. You will have the opportunity to register for classes and meet your advisor. You will receive your student identification card, move into your dorm room if you are residing on campus, and have an opportunity to visit our bookstore.

Transferring from Community College:

North Carolina Wesleyan participates in the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement with the North Carolina Community College System. Regardless of your intended major, if you attend a community college, and follow the college transfer curriculum you are ensured to receive the maximum transfer credit for your college courses. You may be eligible to transfer up to 64 semester hours from a 2-year college.

If you complete a 2-year degree, you will have met our general education requirements.
