Kathy Winslow has served as Director of the Library at North Carolina Wesleyan since 1997, with responsibility for library services for all NC Wesleyan College campuses. During her tenure, she has applied for and received grants to fund two new automation systems, instructional technology, and print and electronic book collections for the library; she planned and supervised the construction of a library addition that nearly doubled the size of the library, increasing usage by about 130%; and she has developed library services for seven off-campus sites. In the sixteen years she has been director, the library has moved from print and microform to encompass electronic books, periodicals, and databases.
Kathy Winslow received her M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.B.A. from the University of Florida at Gainesville. She worked in Humanities Reference at UNC’s Wilson Library and at the University of Florida Health Center Library. Ms. Winslow also taught computer applications at North Carolina Wesleyan from 1989 – 1995 and has nine years of experience in banking. She is a member of ACRL and NCLA, and serves on the NC LIVE Librarians Council. At Wesleyan, Ms. Winslow has served on Wesleyan’s Faculty Council, SACS Steering Committee, Dean’s Council, and the General Education and Curriculum Committees; she chairs the Faculty Library Committee.
