Dr. Sanborn is a professor of psychology. He is originally from Salina, Kansas. As a first generation college student in his family, he attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University and began teaching at NCWC in 2004. He teaches Introduction to Psychology, Psychological Development in Childhood, Psychological Development in Adolescence, Adult Development and Aging, Social Psychology, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Senior Seminar in Psychology/Media Psychology, Careers in Psychology and Positive Psychology.
Before becoming a psychology professor, Dr. Sanborn had several interesting jobs, including working as a drug rehabilitation counselor.
Dr. Sanborn’s favorite area of research is media psychology. He has co-authored a book on the subject of media and psychology, A Cognitive Psychology of Mass Communication. While at NCWC, he has worked on research with several students, mostly honors students. Research topics have included leadership, helping in an emergency, bullying, job discrimination, sports psychology, and introversion.
