Dr. Lewis is an assistant professor of computer information systems and is the program coordinator for the computer information systems program. She had been teaching for NCWC since 2000. Durring her career at NC Weselyan, she received the Exemplary Teacher award for the 2010-2011 academic year, and a Wesley Award in from the Department of Athletics in 2010. She teaches many different courses in CIS curriculum including the areas computer forensics, databases, security, and systems analysis and design. Her research interrests include the scholarship of teaching and learning, information privacy and identity theft.
Dr. Lewis is passionate about the mission of NCWC and spends much of her free time outside of class in service to her students. Along with her husband, Dr. Carl Lewis, she is an avid photographer. You will find the pair along the sidelines of photographing athletic events as well as other athletic events.
Dr. Lewis was born and raised in Rocky Mount. She and her husband have two Jack Russell terriers, Guthrie and Dakota. She enjoys traditional Japanese embroidery, needlepoint, Japanese bead embroidery and is learning to quilt. She also enjoys swimming, cycling, surfing, and kayaking.
