 Division of Humanities

The humanities are at the center of a well-rounded liberal arts education. Students who choose to study literature, philosophy,  religious studies, theater,  foreign languages and music are seekers of an education in the fullest sense of the word. The goal of the humanities is to graduate life-long learners who are intellectually curious, ethically aware, and civically responsible. Humanities students learn to value the past, appreciate the arts, practice critical thinking and close reading, express themselves clearly in speech and writing, and engage deeply the important questions of life.
