Vice President of Finance
Jason Edwards joined North Carolina Wesleyan College in March 2013 and currently serves as Vice President of Finance and Administration. He is responsible for the college’s finances and administration including the controller’s office, facilities, human resources, information technology, the college bookstore, and the Dunn Center for the Performing Arts.
Before accepting this position at his Alma Mater, Edwards worked in the investment industry for 14 years overseeing the accounting, administration, and recordkeeping of U.S. registered mutual funds, domestic and offshore partnerships, endowment funds, private equity funds, and investment portfolios for state and local governments. During this time, he held executive roles as Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, and Financial Reporting Manager.
In the community, Edwards is active with his church as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and Deacon. He enjoys nurturing young boys in the RA Program, mentoring at-risk youth, and teaching financial literacy and personal finance to teens and young adults.
Edwards has degrees in Accounting from North Carolina Wesleyan College and Business Administration from Chowan University. He also attended the Bell Leadership Institute and completed the Leader’s Roundtable, a Master Class in Leadership for Senior Executives, as well as Achievers II: Leading like an Achiever – Build Great Results.
Jason lives in Rocky Mount, NC with his wife and three children
