Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dr. Evan D. Duff
Thank you for your interest in North Carolina Wesleyan College. Our academic programs and the dedicated faculty who support them are at the heart of our institution. Each program of study is designed to prepare students for professional advancement, life-long learning, and responsible participation in their communities. In addition to providing the specialized instruction graduates need to succeed, our liberal arts curriculum emphasizes aptitudes vital in any profession: critical thinking, analytical reasoning, reading, writing, speaking, informed decision-making, and information skills.
We offer a variety of academic majors and minors in many disciplines across four divisions: Business, Humanities, Education/Social Sciences, and Math/Science. We complement our academic programs with an outstanding library and support services that provide the foundation for student success.
Consistent student-faculty engagement is a trademark of the Wesleyan experience. Our faculty members possess credentials comparable to those of their colleagues at large universities but they choose to remain at Wesleyan because of their dedication to teaching and the students they impact. Students have valuable access to faculty as mentors during their college careers and beyond.
As part of our commitment to life-long learning, Wesleyan offers the ASPIRE program that is tailored to meet the needs of adult learners. ASPIRE courses meet one night per week and online, with accelerated class schedules designed to help working adults achieve their educational goals. They are taught by a combination of regular and adjunct faculty members, all of whom possess the credentials they need to offer excellent instruction. ASPIRE is available at our four campuses that include Rocky Mount, Raleigh-Durham, Goldsboro and Wilmington.
When it comes to higher education, today’s students have more options than ever before. For students (and parents), who recognize the value of personal attention from highly qualified faculty whose top priority is excellent teaching, North Carolina Wesleyan College is an excellent choice.
