Dear Visitor to the Wesleyan Website:
The administration at North Carolina Wesleyan College has one overriding goal—to create and manage a college that excels in educating young and adult students who see higher education as the critical component of a successful life.
The team of experienced faculty and administrators has been carefully selected to meet this goal for our students. Please read their biographies to gain an understanding about how much they care about scholarship and the people who are our students.
Whether a student is a first-generation college student or hails from a steady line of Ph.D.s, he or she receives the most student-centric experience here of any college in our peer group.
Our small classes, cultural and geographic diversity, commitment to service, athletic opportunities, and dedicated staff and faculty are unique. We work closely together to help each student be successful on campus and in the world outside of our serpentine wall.
I joined as president June 1, 2009, and you may read about my background in the news release about my appointment. I have communicated to all since coming here that Wesleyan has the potential to be America’s Next Great College. I and my faculty and administration colleagues believe in that goal, as well.
Now that we have a growing student body, balanced budget and three-year strategic plan, we are well on our way to meeting that objective.
And finally, you should understand the strong support of our Board of Trustees. Since the school was founded in 1956 and opened its doors with 92 students in 1960, our trustees have been not only prominent members of this and other communities but also dedicated educators themselves. We work smoothly together for each and every student.
Welcome to our web space and to our school!
