Give To North Carolina Wesleyan College
|
The tuition that students pay to attend North Carolina Wesleyan College covers only 70 percent of the total cost of their Wesleyan education. The College depends on private support to make up the difference. This situation is not unique to Wesleyan and, in fact, applies to many American colleges and universities today, especially to private church-related colleges like Wesleyan. Wesleyans situation, however, is somewhat unusual because the College is relatively young. It was founded in 1956 after the people of Rocky Mount, N.C., petitioned The United Methodist Church to help them meet the need for a liberal arts college in their community. As a young college, Wesleyan is striving to build a strong financial base that will enhance its current quality of education and ensure ongoing excellence for future generations. Support for Wesleyan comes in many forms in addition to gifts of cash, such as bequests in a will, IRAs, life insurance policies, trusts, real estate, stocks and bonds, and various deferred gifts. Some gifts provide donors with tax incentives, lifetime income, and other benefits. There is a form of gift for every donors objective.
