NOTE: Calendars are available only if you
are logged-in the NC Wesleyan College network.
The campus facilities and services have been developed
for the benefit of the North Carolina Wesleyan College campus
community (students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni) and
therefore they have primary access. The Director makes accommodations
for use of campus facilities by individuals and/or organizations. In
granting use of campus facilities it is understood that: 1. The
facility is available and appropriate. 2. The Reservation procedures
have been followed. 3. The proposed program in no way conflicts with
the philosophy and ideals of the College.
The loft area of the Hartness Student Center is the
only area designated for meetings. The game room is for recreation,
social gatherings and campus programming. For Hartness Student Center
Reservations, follow the procedure below. For questions,

RESERVATION PROCEDURE:
If you would like to reserve the Game Room, Loft, Patio, or the
whole Hartness Center, please email
reservations@ncwc.edu AND
elezan@ncwc.edu with the
following information:
- What part of the Hartness Center you'd like to reserve
- Date of the Event (month, day, and year)
- Time of the event (when the even starts and ends)
- Time of reservation (includes time for set up and clean up)
- Type of event/ Title of event
- Contact name, title, and phone number
Example:
I would like to reserve the Hartness Center Loft on Wednesday,
September 15, 2004 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon (meeting 10:30 am
until 11:30 am) for the Swim Club monthly meeting. Contact: Suzy Sue,
Swim Club President, 454-1234.
***Note: only the Loft is available for meeting space. The Patio,
Game Room, and whole Hartness Center are for events only.
For semester reservations, please list all dates
required. (ie, 05/21/04, 05/22/04, 05/23/04 not 05/21/04 -
05/23/04)
GENERAL POLICIES FOR THE HARTNESS STUDENT CENTER
The following applies to all ON and OFF campus groups,
individuals and visitors that are utilizing the center.
- Sodexho must provide food/catering for all events. Contact the
General Manager at (252) 985-5188.
- The College will determine security needs. The additional cost
of security will be paid by the user. Contact (252) 985-5228 to
arrange for security.
- The college is not liable for injuries received while attending
the stated function.
- The reserving party is liable for any college property damaged
at the stated function.
- The college policy regarding the use of alcohol applies to all
areas of the Hartness Student Center.
- There is no sitting, laying, or standing on game tables and/or
tables in the Hartness Student Center.
- There is no laying of any materials on any of the gaming tables.
If this is done and damage results, the reserving party is
financially responsible for the damages.
- Parking is available behind the center and across the street
nearest the Residence Halls and the Gym.
- Smoking or the use of tobacco products is not permitted anywhere
in the building or within 10 feet of the center doors.
- Signs and posters are not to be posted on bulletin boards in the Hartness
Student Center.
- No posting of decorations, posters, fliers are allowed on the
walls. Nothing is allowed on the walls. Any damage will be charged
to the individual or group responsible.
- Abuse and/or damage of the facility, furniture, equipment or
staff will result in fines/ loss of future privileges.
- The center must be left as clean as it was found.
- The pool table, video games, vending machines, air hockey table,
photocopier machine, foosball table, couch, TV are never to be
moved. If these items are moved the reserving individual
and/or group will be fined. Any damages to the facilities will be
charged to the reserving group.
- The only furniture that is able to be moved is the eating tables
and the ping pong table. Furniture must be returned to its original
setting or charges will be assessed.
- Furniture set-ups must be previously arranged on reservation
forms. Only staff is able to move furniture.
- Trash and food are to be placed in the proper receptacles after
usage.
- The Hartness Student Center workers, staff, volunteers and
director are not responsible for any personal items left in the
building.
- The computer lab is for NCWC students, faculty and staff only.
- The heating and air-conditioning is set at a constant setting
depending on the season. The temperature will not be adjusted. For
extreme problems, please contact the Director.
