Rocky Mount, N.C.— Dr. Patricia Matisz Smith, associate professor of business administration at North Carolina Wesleyan College, has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers & Educators.

The honor is bestowed upon educators for excellence in teaching or for outstanding achievements as recognized by community and peers. Educators often are nominated by students who have chosen to highlight a teacher’s contributions to their lives and their success.

Smith is in her 19th year of teaching at Wesleyan. She earned her B.S. degree at Duquesne University, her M.B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh, and her Ph.D. at Capella University. At Wesleyan she has taught courses in subjects that include international business, globalization, and organizational behavior.

Smith served in the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Sabah, Malaysia, and currently is secretary of the North Carolina Peace Corps Association.
