September 12, 2005 Symposium on American Constitution Set For September 20 The Robert C. Byrd Symposium: The American Constitution, Constant and Changing, will be held at North Carolina Wesleyan College on Tuesday, September 20, at 7 p.m. in the BB&T Room in the Hardee's Building. Interim Dean James Traer will moderate a symposium on the Constitution of the United States, addressing its uniqueness, history, scope, and application. Panelists will be James Martin, attorney and Wesleyan instructor who teaches Legal Environment of Business; Dr. David Jones, Constitutional historian and NCWC professor emeritus of history; and Dr. John Poffenbarger, NCWC assistant professor of political science. Following the three presentations, the members of the panel may question one another, and the audience is invited to raise questions with any of the participants. The purpose of the symposium is to shed light and perhaps discover truth through the process of questions and answers. The symposium is expected to last about 60-75 minutes. Light refreshments will be provided afterward. The event is free and open to the public. ### |
