Justice Studies Professor O’Connor Is Guest Lecturer

At U.S. Air Force Special Operations School

Rocky Mount, N.C.—North Carolina Wesleyan College justice studies professor Dr. Tom O’Connor was invited by the U.S. Air Force to teach a course entitled Psychology of Terrorism to students at the Air Force Special Operations School at Hurlburt Field, Florida, on January 24.

The school is a unit of the Air Force Special Operations Command, which is the Air Force component of the U.S. Special Operations Command and the resident college of the Joint Special Operations University. O’Connor’s course is part of a curriculum that provides education and career development for special operations forces officers and enlisted personnel.

At Wesleyan, O’Connor applies his knowledge to the benefit of students in the justice studies program. He teaches a variety of courses, including one that focuses on terrorism, counter-terrorism, terrorist personalities, and other topics. He also has been a pioneer in on-line justice studies courses. He has taught and worked in locations around the world and has been invited to join a team of professors who would at a future date help to rebuild Iraq’s higher education system.
