July 26, 2004 Former N.C. Wesleyan Basketball Team Captain Named New Assistant Mens Basketball Coach and Sports Information Director
"I never expected this door to open this early," Dalton said. "I am very excited about this opportunity and about being back at Wesleyan." As a student-athlete at Wesleyan, Dalton excelled on and off the court. A four- year letter winner, he was named to the Academic All-Conference Team four times. During his career, the Bishops were 73-35, won a conference regular season title, a tournament title, and appeared in the NCAA Tournament. Dalton was an outstanding leader on the court, and those qualities were recognized across campus by his peers. He was elected senior class president for the 2001-2002 academic year. Dalton completed a double major in accounting and business administration and graduated with honors. Wesleyan Head Coach John Thompson said, "Dan has great energy and desire. I believe he will become an outstanding coach. I am very excited to add him to our staff. Dan will be an effective recruiter and will work significantly with our frontcourt players." ### |
