November 10, 2004 North Carolina Wesleyan College Begins Full Scholarship Program For High School Valedictorians Rocky Mount, N.C.Gary Sherman, North Carolina Wesleyan Colleges new vice president of enrollment management, has announced the expansion of the colleges scholarship program to include a full-tuition award especially for high school valedictorians. Beginning in the fall 2005 semester, all high school valedictorians who have been accepted for admission to Wesleyan can enroll tuition-free. The students also will automatically be eligible to participate in the colleges Honors Program for highly-motivated students, which leads to a special Honors degree awarded at graduation. "The new scholarship for valedictorians is valued at more than $55,000 over a four-year period," Sherman said. "It provides an incentive for outstanding students to consider the opportunity to obtain an excellent education at North Carolina Wesleyan. Other full and partial scholarships are available at Wesleyan for academically strong students, of course, but this is Wesleyans first scholarship specifically reserved for high school valedictorians. Wesleyan wants these top students to understand that the college recognizes their accomplishments and is prepared to help them continue their pursuit of educational excellence." Additional information is available through Wesleyans Office of Admission, 252-985-5200; email adm@ncwc.edu. ### |
