Rocky Mount, N.C.—Paul Bauer and Joseph Nelson, two Rocky Mount businessmen and community leaders, will serve as this year’s volunteer co-chairs of Day for Wesleyan, the annual area-wide fundraising event for North Carolina Wesleyan College.

Bauer is a Wesleyan graduate and vice-president of the John Hackney Agency of Rocky Mount. Nelson is chairman and president of Davenport Motor Company.

This year’s Day for Wesleyan will be held Tuesday, September 16. On that day, more than 100 volunteers will visit nearly 1,200 local businesses and individuals to ask for donations and pledges to support ongoing basic expenses of the college, including scholarships, library resources, teaching materials, and computers.

Last year’s Day for Wesleyan raised more than $400,000.
