Judge Quentin Sumner To Join North Carolina Wesleyan College In Mock Trial To Warn Of Drinking and Driving Dangers

Rocky Mount, N.C.—Superior Court Judge Quentin Sumner will participate with North Carolina Wesleyan College students on Wednesday, November 20, at 6 p.m. to enact a mock trial that calls attention to the dangers of drinking and driving. The performance will be held in Wesleyan’s Leon Russell Chapel, which will be arranged as a courtroom. The event is free and open to the public.

The mock trial, which was created by Wesleyan students and faculty, presents the imaginary case of the State of North Carolina vs. Jennifer Schmirnoff. The trial is intended as an instructive, thought-provoking, and informative pre-holiday event.

The performance is supported by a grant from the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and by participants from Wesleyan’s justice studies program, the theater program, and the Wellness Center.
