November 2, 2001 N.C. Wesleyan Awards New Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship Rocky Mount, N.C.—North Carolina Wesleyan College has awarded a new $5,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation to Michael Hamilton, a freshman from Crewe, Va. Hamilton and his family were guests at a recent reception in Raleigh, sponsored by Coca-Cola, which honored First Generation Scholarship recipients from colleges and universities throughout the state. Wesleyan received funds for its new Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship through a gift from Coca-Cola to the Independent College Fund of North Carolina. The scholarship is for an entering freshman who is the first in his or her immediate family to attend college. The award will be presented to the same student for four years, so long as scholarship requirements are met. # # # |
