October 31, 2001 First Union Foundation Donates to N.C. Wesleyan Rocky Mount, N.C.Leonard Pittman, Jr., First Union National Bank Market President, recently presented North Carolina Wesleyan College President Dr. Ian Newbould with a gift of $5,000 from First Union Foundation to help fund construction of the Colleges proposed recreation and fitness center. Through the First Union Foundation, First Union National Bank supports hundreds of programs and initiatives serving education, the arts, health and human needs, and civic projects. The companys goal is to support local First Union communities through programs that have the potential to make a positive, long-term difference with a focus on improving the quality of education. N.C. Wesleyan is an independent, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The College offers bachelors degrees in 22 majors on the main campus in Rocky Mount. It also offers an Adult Degree Program specially designed to help working adults finish their bachelors degrees in several disciplines on the Rocky Mount campus and at sites in Raleigh, Durham, and Goldsboro. # # # |
