Oettinger Appointed New N.C. Wesleyan College Trustee
Rocky Mount, N.C.Rocky Mount CPA David Oettinger, Jr., has recently been appointed to serve on N.C. Wesleyan Colleges board of trustees, according to Thomas A. Betts, Jr., board chairman. Since 1995, Oettinger has been president and owner of David Oettinger, Jr., CPA, P.A., a firm specializing primarily in business and personal tax planning, compliance, purchases and sales of businesses, and related matters. Oettinger earned his B.S. degree, with honors, in mechanical engineering from N.C. State University before completing his J.D. degree in law at the University of North Carolina and his LL.M. in tax law at New York University. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and is active in the community. He serves as treasurer and executive committee member of the Tar River Choral and Orchestral Society, treasurer and executive committee member of the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce, member of Tar River Kiwanis, and he has served as treasurer of the Rocky Mount Jaycees. He is also an assistant scoutmaster and treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 5 at First United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount. Wesleyan board of trustees chairman Betts said, "David Oettingers knowledge and experience make him a valued addition to Wesleyans board of trustees. I welcome his intellect and his common sense. We are pleased and fortunate that he has agreed to serve the College and help lead Wesleyan forward at this exciting time, as we welcome a new president." Oettinger and his wife, Catherine, have a daughter, Sara, and a son, Matthew. N.C. Wesleyan College is an independent, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. In addition to its main campus in Rocky Mount, the college offers an adult degree program at sites in Raleigh, Durham, and Goldsboro. ### |
