Poetry Reading at NC Wesleyan April 13 Rocky Mount, NC In honor of National Poetry Month, the Multicultural Affairs Office at North Carolina Wesleyan College has invited Wordsmiths of Color, a group of four people from Charlotte who write and read poetry, to the Rocky Mount campus to perform, Thursday, April 13, at 9 p.m., in the Hartness Student Center. Students, and others are also welcome to read poetry in the event! It will be in the tradition of "Love Jones" and "Slam," (two African-American movies that incorporated a type of performance poetry that is often accompanied with music) with an atmosphere where there is freedom to flow, listen, and learn! Anyone who would like to read poetry or improvisational freestyle," please call Kellea Tibbs at 985-1690, or email her at ktibbs@ncwc.edu. # # # |
