Fruitt is New Director of NC Wesleyan College's Durham Teaching Site

Rocky Mount, NC -- Dr. Jane Bergman Fruitt is the new Director of North Carolina Wesleyan Colleges Durham Adult Degree Program site, which opened in September near the Research Triangle Park. Located at the corner of Miami Boulevard and Alexander Drive, this site compliments NC Wesleyans existing course offerings in Raleigh, designed to serve the needs of working adults who seek a bachelors degree.
Fruitt has over 20 years of practical experience in education at all levels. Her A.B., M.Ed., and her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction are all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has also taken courses in Meredith Colleges MBA program. She has extensive experience in supervision, administration, teaching/training and program development.
Previously, Fruitt worked as an instructor at UNC-CH in the School of Education, supervising student teachers. She was a supervisor in the Wake County Public Schools. She was academic dean and an instructor at Phillips Junior College (formerly Kings College) for 10-1/2 years. She was also an instructor at Wake Tech Community College.
Raised in Greensboro, she lives in Raleigh. She has two sons, John, 23, who will graduate from UNC-Wilmington in December, and Robert, 22, who is a taxidermist.
North Carolina Wesleyan is an independent, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The College offers bachelor's degrees in 22 majors to traditional-aged students on the Rocky Mount campus. NC Wesleyan also offers an adult degree program geared to working adults, with classes in Rocky Mount, and at additional teaching sites in Raleigh, Goldsboro, and Durham.
