NCWC: Dunn Center for the Performing Arts

There are few entertainers who can generate instant audience anticipation from a crowd of bluegrass aficionados. One of the few entertainers able to do this is bluegrass talent Rhonda Vincent with her band The Rage. While it might make for a great Hollywood screenplay to say she was endowed with some sort of otherworldly musical talent by chance, it wouldn't be anywhere near the truth. Rhonda has lived music her entire life. The mandolinist and fiddler made her recording debut while still a child, and by the time she turned 23, she’d recorded eight LPs as a member of her family’s group The Sally Mountain Show.

Rhonda Vincent was named SPBGMA’s 2008 Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Blending soul, intensity, and tenderness, Rhonda Vincent's unique brand of bluegrass is rich in tradition while remaining unmistakably modern. Among the most beloved figures in today's bluegrass scene, Vincent has earned an unprecedented seven consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year awards (2001-2006) from the IBMA, a multiple Grammy nominee, a top concert and festival draw, and with her road band The Rage supporting her, is one of the most dynamic and high-energy performers in any genre of music. She just released her latest album entitled, “Good Thing Going”.
